Building a Pro Home Studio in India for Under ₹50,000

One of the biggest myths we hear from new students is: "I need to buy expensive gear before I can start." The truth? Some of the biggest hits in the world were made on a simple laptop with headphones. You can build a capable home setup in India without breaking the bank. Here is our recommended shopping list.

1. The DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) - ₹5,000 - ₹10,000

This is your main software.

  • Ableton Live Intro: Perfect for electronic music.
  • FL Studio Fruity Edition: Great for beginners.

Note: Many audio interfaces come with free "Lite" versions of these software!

2. Audio Interface - ₹10,000 - ₹12,000

This box connects your guitar/mic to your computer and outputs high-quality sound.

Recommendation: Focusrite Scarlett Solo (Gen 3/4) or Audient iD4. These are industry standards and easily available on Amazon India or Bajaao.

3. Studio Headphones - ₹8,000 - ₹12,000

In an untreated room (like a bedroom), good headphones are better than expensive speakers.

Recommendation: Audio-Technica ATH-M50x or Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro. They are durable and give you an honest sound.

4. MIDI Keyboard (Optional but recommended) - ₹8,000

Recommendation: Arturia MiniLab or Akai MPK Mini. These allow you to play melodies and control your software.

Total: Approx ₹40,000 - ₹50,000
